What is Solar PV?

By installing a solar PV system, you can generate your own electricity by converting solar energy into electricity.

The solar PV system works by absorbing the solar energy, but it doesn’t require direct sunlight in order to do this. Despite what many think, solar panels will absorb sunlight even on cloudy days.

Using the energy absorbed by the solar panel, the system will produce an electrical charge that then creates a direct current of electricity. This direct current will be passed through an inverter,installed within the house, to create an alternating current which is required to run a household. This current will be used to power household appliances of all types.

Who is Eligible For RIR Insulation Grants?

In order to qualify for the grant and to receive a free installation of solar panels, you must be in receipt of one of the following benefits:

Income Support
Child Benefit
Child Tax Credit
Working Tax Credit
Pension Credit
Income related ESA
Income related JSA
Universal Credit

LA FLEX CRITERIA ELIGIBILITY ROUTES

INCOME

Owner-occupied and private rented sector householders with a gross annual income less than £31,000 / this cap applies irrespective of the property size, composition or region and is from all sources of income.

NHS REFERRAL

Households in EPC band E, F and G and identified as low income and vulnerable, with an occupant whose health conditions may be impacted further by living in a cold home. These health conditions may fall under one of the four umbrella conditions: A cardiovascular condition, A respiratory disease, Limited mobility or, Immunosuppression. Households under this route can only be referred by: An NHS foundation trust, An NHS Trust, A Health Board, A Local Health Board, A general medical practitioner provider. At NewGen we have made it simple for you to apply for your grant if you are eligible. As well as supporting your application we will also connect you with our network of installers who are qualified to complete the home upgrades for you.

2. We will send out an expert assessor with a date and time to suit you to survey your property.
